A product of the diaspora, Asha moved to Maine at the age of eight. She is a graduate of Bates College where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. During her time at Bates, Asha worked with healthcare providers, locally and abroad, to address health disparities that impact refugee and immigrant populations. She has since graduated from Tufts School of Medicine (Maine Track Program) and is completing her residency in Internal Medicine at Maine Medical Center. She will be moving back to her hometown of Lewiston, Maine once she completes her residency to start her position as a hospitalist. She states “Maine, my home state, serves as a unique microcosm of global and national issues regarding health adversities. This has given rise to my interest in identifying health disparities within my communities.”
Amina Igeh is a first year urogynecology fellow at Yale. Urogynecology is a surgical subspecialty of OBGYN that focuses on treating women with pelvic floor disorders including pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence. She graduated from Texas Tech El Paso OBGYN in 2023 where She was chief resident after attending the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio. After graduating in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University, she worked as a college counselor in Dallas ISD. Her passions include global health and mentorship.
Dr. Noor Mohamed, Pharm.D., is the Director of Investigational Drug Service (IDS) at Morehouse School of Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from the University of Georgia and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida A&M UniversityCollege of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Dr. Mohamed is an essential member of a team of researchers at Morehouse School of Medicine that are focused on eliminating health disparities by designing diverse clinical trials that prioritize the inclusion of communities of color. Additionally, he serves as instructor and preceptor for pharmacy and biomedical graduate students.
When he is not assisting others, Noor enjoys learning new languages, traveling, and spending time with his wife and sons.
Dr. Hassan Nur is a General Dentist who practice in Baltimore, Maryland For more than a decade. He attended college at the University of Georgia College of Public Health.Upon finishing his undergraduate degree at the College of Public Health, Dr. Nur went on to complete Dental School at Temple University Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia. Since graduating from dental School he has been serving patients from infancy through teenage years, with special emphasis on building relationships through compassionate, quality care in dentistry!
